What's worth riding for more than a mouth watering chicken wing?  I'm sharing a "best chicken wing" list I compiled based on suggestions - mostly very enthusiastic - from locals. If you've got a wing recommendation, please feel free to share. I'll ride a long way for a plate of fantastic wings!


Houligan's was the hands-down favorite! Three locations: 1110 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach; 1396 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange and a location at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach. Houligan's is known for its Wally Wings, which they tout as the "original grilled Buffalo Wings." Their wings are so good they have to set up an additional kitchen and park an extra refrigerator truck out back to keep up with the hundreds of take-out orders they get during Superbowl Sunday. Mild, hot, XHot, mild garlic, hot garlic, Teriyaki, Teriyaki garlic, honey BBQ, sweet & bold BBQ and Cajun.

Oyster Pub, 555 Seabreeze Blvd, Daytona Beach. Just a short walk to the beach and Main Street, the Oyster Pub is a local's favorite and yes, you can get those wings grilled. Flavors: mild, hot, XHot, Inferno, Teriyaki and Teriyaki garlic.

South Turn, 1540 S. Nova Rd., Daytona Beach. Here you can enjoy your wings over a game of pool with an extra ice cold beer. Get 'em grilled!

Ground Chuck's Udderly Good Burgers, 900 Woodland Blvd., DeLand. Ride over to the historic city of DeLand and enjoy wings and a darn good burger. Order mild, medium, hot, honey mustard, BBQ Teriyaki and garlic parmesan.
